Travis Hunter got his walking papers today. No, not that kind, the good kind!
The 2024 Heisman Trophy winner walked today at the University of Colorado in Boulder, joining thousands of other Buffalo students and 66 other Buff student-athletes who earned their diplomas in the school’s graduation at Folsom Field.
Hunter, who two weeks ago was selected No. 2 overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2025 NFL Draft, graduated with a degree in anthropology and was a two-time Academic All-America first team selection, boasting a 3.79 GPA.
In fact, he was selected as the 2025 Division I Academic All-America® Team Member of the Year by College Sports Communicators. He is the first player in Colorado history to be named a unanimous first-team All-American and first-team Academic All-American.
Hunter is just the third Heisman winner to earn Academic All-American first-team status, joining Florida Heisman winners Danny Wuerffel (1996) and Tim Tebow (2007).
It’s a busy week for Hunter, who plans to attend the Jaguars rookie mini camp that is scheduled to run Friday to Sunday (May 9-11), so any graduation celebrations will have to be modest.
