Gary Beban quarterbacked UCLA to 23 victories against five losses and two ties in his three-year reign with the Bruins. He completed 1,280 yards passing, rushed for 35 TD’s, and made two 2-point conversions. His professional football career with the Washington Redskins ended in 1970 at which time Gary joined CB Commercial, the nations leading full-service real estate organization. After serving as an industrial property specialist and holding various management positions, Gary has served as President of CB Commercial and Madison Advisory Group since 1987. He and his wife Kathleen have two sons, Paul and Mark, and reside in Northbrook IL. Gary was elected to the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame in 1988.

O.J. Simpson's 1,722 points were the second highest for a second place finish but Purdue's versatile LeRoy Keyes, with 1,366 points, hit an all-time high for a third-place finish. Beban won every section but the Midwest, where he was second to Keyes.
