As a 4-year starter, the experienced, strong-armed Palmer was the Pac-10's career passing and total offense leader. Palmer finished his USC season with a win at the 2003 Orange Bowl where he was selected bowl MVP. He went on to be the number one pick in the 2003 NFL Draft.
