The 6-foot 5-inch Palmer is the fifth Trojan to capture this award, following Mike Garret, OJ Simpson, Charles White and Marcus Allen. As a 4-year starter, the experienced, strong-armed Palmer was the Pac-10's career passing and total offense leader. Palmer finished his USC season with a win at the 2003 Orange Bowl where he was selected bowl MVP. He went on to be the number one pick in the 2003 NFL Draft.
